- Reference Solution
- Specification
- 30 mL, 500 mL, 1000 mL
- Intended Use
- Designed for use with the ion-selective electrode module (the electrolyte module of a biochemistry analyzer or an electrolyte analyzer) to provide the reference potential for the measurement of potassium, sodium, and chloride ions.
- Principle
- When measuring electrolytes by the electrode method, a specific ion-selective electrode and a reference electrode form an electrode pair; the reference electrode potential stays stable while the measuring electrode responds selectively to specific ions. The response follows the Nernst equation: potential is proportional to the logarithm of the ion concentration (activity); for monovalent ions at 25°C it simplifies to E = E0 + 0.05916 lg C, where E is the measured potential, E0 the initial potential and C the ion activity (concentration).
- Composition
- Potassium chloride 10mol/L
- Storage Conditions
- Unopened reagent stores at 2°C~35°C, valid for 1 year. After opening, and within the shelf life, the reference solution is valid for 30 days at 2°C~35°C. See the product bottle label for the manufacturing date.
